Built in 1929, Sierra Grande Lodge is on the National Register of Historic Places. The transformations it has undergone in the many years since its origination as the first bathhouse have been extensive and varied. The Vera Hotel has undergone many transformations since it was floated down the Rio Grande from Elephant Butte to perch high above the town of Truth or Consequences. The Vera Hotel now serves as our conference & meeting facility purchased in 1991 by Serge & Guy Raoul, of Raouls Restaurant in NYC.

Serge discovered the area through friend and local artist, Delmas Howe, and was deeply moved by the power of the water, earth and spirits of the region. He wanted to honor these, while re-establishing the tradition of healing, transformation and self-discovery. Sierra Grande Lodge, as the original bathhouse, tapping the source of the geothermal water was his natural choice to establish such a place. The transformations and renovations have been extensive and on many levels. Even if you are just passing through we encourage you to stop in for a tour and of course a soak in the magical Hot Spring water.
